history ------------------------jim hesmer

Jim Hesmer was one of a kind!

A true gentleman of Canadian speedway who lived his life to the fullest. His involvement with Canadian Speedway goes back many years, working together with his Brother Joe to build speedway in Canada.

Working as a teacher in Toronto using his hands to repair badly damaged vehicles, his technical knowledge was utilized in speedway and he rode it very well. Following in the family tradition, he schooled his son, Gary to become a top flight rider in Canada, one of many success stories that Jim had throughout his life!

Jim was a great guy who was always very vocal and expressed his feelings very openly. This helped situations to be quickly settled as soon as they arose.

Jim is buried in Mississauga, Ontario.
